Do I pay the operative directly?
Yes. You agree the work and payment directly with the operative. Icon Labour charges the contractor a £500 + VAT introduction fee only after the operative starts.
What is the introduction fee?
£500 + VAT per operative who actually starts work. There is no placement fee merely for an enquiry, profile review, interview, offer or agreed future start date.
What is the five-working-day guarantee?
If the operative leaves or is dismissed for substantiated conduct or capability reasons during their first five working days, we will use reasonable endeavours to provide one replacement introduction without another placement fee. Conditions and exclusions are set out in our Contractor Terms of Business.
Can I keep using my existing suppliers?
Yes. You can use Icon Labour alongside existing suppliers, including for individual vacancies that are proving difficult to fill.
Can anyone see candidate profiles?
No. Browsing is available only to contractors approved by Icon Labour. Profiles are anonymous; contact details and uploaded documents stay private.
How quickly can you introduce someone?
Send your trade, location and start date. We will discuss current availability and a realistic next step for your requirement. Timing depends on the role and available operatives.
Do operatives pay an introduction fee?
No. Registration and introductions are free for operatives. The £500 + VAT introduction fee is paid by the contractor after a successful start.
When will you respond to my enquiry?
We reply within 24 hours of receiving your enquiry. A response is the start of a conversation; the time needed to find an operative depends on your requirements and availability.
What checks do you perform?
We verify CSCS and CPCS cards supplied by operatives and review their submitted experience, location and availability against your brief. We will discuss further role-specific checks with you. Our checks do not replace the contractor’s final right-to-work, competency, employment-status or site checks.
Which regions do you cover?
We cover England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Send us the site postcode, required trade and start date so we can discuss availability for your location.
How does contractor approval work?
Create an account, confirm your email and submit your name, company and phone number. Omar reviews the request before enabling candidate browsing. We respond within 24 hours; approval may need further information. Email confirmation alone does not grant access.
